by George Frideric Handel

CONDUCTOR Jeremy Silver
DIRECTOR Jenny Miller

Rinaldo was Handel’s first London triumph, and includes the famous ‘Cara Sposa’ and ‘Lascia ch’io pianga’. Handel’s musical writing is bold, colourful and full of youthful energy. The story is a fantasy involving wizardry, volcanoes, mermaids and spectacular theatrical effects, with at its heart the young hero Rinaldo setting out to rescue his princess from evil forces- a baroque ‘Star Wars’. Conducted by well-established Jeremy Silver who recently conducted for English Touring Opera, and directed by Jenny Miller who recently directed LFO’s Magic Flute, the cast will include sparkling talent just graduated from the London music colleges.
